Adults with Diverse Abilities
The Adults with Diverse Abilities Program at the Frederic Ozanam Centre is dedicated to supporting adults with developmental disabilities in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Here, participants can build life skills, form friendships, and engage with the community through a variety of programs and activities. Our team is committed to helping each individual thrive and feel safe, respected, and empowered.
Program Overview
The program offers a wide range of structured activities designed to promote personal growth, independence, and social connection. Some of the key activities include:
- Life Skills Development – Participants can learn and practice essential skills like cooking, money management, literacy, and more to help build independence.
- Social and Recreational Activities – Bowling, arts, fitness, gardening, and games: there’s something for everyone to enjoy and explore.
- Community Engagement – Volunteer opportunities, outings, and newspaper delivery allow participants to connect with the broader community.
The centre also offers specialized programs, including therapeutic swimming, yoga, and a monthly self-advocacy meeting to empower participants to speak for themselves.
